Baked Creamy Sandwich
This recipe is a great and creative option for the lunch time, especially for children.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup milk
- 50g grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1 loaf of sliced white sandwich bread (trim off the hard edges of the slices)
- 100g of sliced ham
- 100g of sliced mozzarella cheese
- 2 tomatoes, sliced and seasoned with olive oil
- Salt and oregano to taste
- Butter or margarine for greasing baking sheet or ovenproof dish
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a blender, combine milk, grated cheese, eggs, butter (or margarine) and salt to taste. Mix until the mixture is homogeneous.
- Grease a baking sheet or ovenproof dish with butter (or margarine) and place a layer of bread. Over the bread, spread half the mixture, ham, mozzarella cheese and tomato slices. Then place the second layer of bread and, over it, spread the remaining mixture and sprinkle some oregano on top.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until the cheese melts and the bread is a little crispy on the sides.

- About 35-40 minutes / 6-8 servings

- Before deciding for the baking sheet or ovenproof dish, assemble the two layers of bread in a surface, so you can have an idea of the shape or size of the baking sheet or ovenproof dish.
- As you place each layer of bread, cut a few slices accordingly to shape the sides of the baking sheet or ovenproof dish.
