Simple Orange Cake

A simple and delicious cake that goes very well with breakfast or lunch break.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 eggs (whites and yolks separated)
  • 1 cup of orange juice
  • Butter to grease and flour to dust a cake pan

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F (about 180°C).
  2. Using a cake mixer, mix well the egg whites until stiff.
  3. Add the egg yolks and sugar and mix again.
  4. Add the flour, orange juice and finally the baking powder. Mix everything.
  5. Grease with butter and dust with flour a cake pan.
  6. Pour the mixture into the cake pan and bake for about 40 minutes or when you insert a toothpick, it comes out clean.
  7. Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes and then unmold.

  • About 1 hour / 12 servings
