Simple Orange Cake
A simple and delicious cake that goes very well with breakfast or lunch break.
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 4 eggs (whites and yolks separated)
- 1 cup of orange juice
- Butter to grease and flour to dust a cake pan
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 350° F (about 180°C).
- Using a cake mixer, mix well the egg whites until stiff.
- Add the egg yolks and sugar and mix again.
- Add the flour, orange juice and finally the baking powder. Mix everything.
- Grease with butter and dust with flour a cake pan.
- Pour the mixture into the cake pan and bake for about 40 minutes or when you insert a toothpick, it comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for about 10 minutes and then unmold.
