Chocolate Dessert – Large Brigadier (Brigadeiro)
This recipe is a quick, family-size version of Brigadeiros (Brazilian Fudge Balls) and is all made in the microwave.
Ingredients:
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can (use the same can of the sweetened condensed milk as a measure) of heavy cream
- 1 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder (if you want sweeter, add 1/2 cup of sweetened chocolate powder plus 1/2 cup of unsweetened chocolate powder)
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 3 large whole eggs
- Butter for greasing cake pan for microwave
- Chocolate sprinkles (or chocolate shavings) for garnish
Directions:
- Place all the first five ingredients in a blender and blend well for about 2 minutes (the more blended, more aerated it will be).
- Pour the mixture into the microwaveable cake pan, previously greased with butter.
- Place the cake pan in the microwave and cook on high for 6 to 8 minutes but, just after 6 minutes of cooking, it must be verified for consistency and then, after that, add 1 minute (or more), if necessary. (The end result should be a soft dessert, but a little more consistent than the traditional pudding.)
- Remove it from cake pan while still warm.
- Garnish with chocolate sprinkles.
Total Time / Yield:
- 10-15 minutes / 10-12 servings
Notes, Tips & Tricks:
- If desired, before adding the chocolate sprinkles, drizzle the top with a ready-made chocolate syrup.
