Creamed Corn
This recipe is very simple and goes well as a side dish for many types of main dishes.
Ingredients:
- 1 can of corn
 - 1 tablespoon of butter
 - Butter for greasing ovenproof glass dish
 - 5 heaped tablespoons of all-purpose flour
 - 500ml milk
 - 1/4 teaspoon of salt (or to taste)
 - 1 teaspoon of oregano (optional)
 - 1 heaped tablespoon of grated Parmesan cheese
 - Grated Parmesan cheese for sprinkling

Directions:
- In blender, combine milk, flour, salt and grated cheese.
 - Pour the mixture in a pan with butter, oregano (optional) and the drained corn.
 - Stir constantly, until boiling. Then, lower the heat, continue stirring until it thickens slightly (about 5 minutes).
 - Grease an ovenproof dish with butter, add the mixture and sprinkle with grated cheese.
 - Let it cool for a few minutes and then it’s ready to serve.

Total Time / Yield:
- 20-30 minutes / 4-6 servings

Notes, Tips & Tricks:
- If you want to add more flavor, replace the salt with 1 to 1/2 bouillon cube (vegetable, chicken or beef) during cooking, but dissolve it in a small amount of warm milk first, because if you do this after adding the flour, the cube may not dissolve completely before the mixture begins to thicken.
 - If you want the mixture to have a thicker consistency so that you can “cut” it when it cools for serving, add 1 to 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to the mixture.
 - This recipe is perfect as side dish.
