Easy Chinese Style Noodles
An easy, improvised recipe for those days when you’re craving Chinese food, …or at least something that resembles it.
Ingredients:
- 1 packet of instant noodles, flavor of your choice
- 2 tablespoons olive oil or sesame oil
- ½ large onion, cut into strips
- ½ green bell pepper, cut into strips
- ½ red bell pepper, cut into strips
- 2 to 3 tablespoons of soy sauce (or use the amount that is of your taste)
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 teaspoon of brown sugar
Directions:
- Cook the noodles into water until it is “al dente”. Then remove the water, leaving only an amount equivalent to about 4 tbsp. Add half of the seasoning that comes with the noodles, mix and set aside.
- In a large skillet, add olive oil (or sesame oil) and the onions. Saute a bit.
- Add the bell peppers and saute everything enough to not be so soft.
- Add soy sauce and mix.
- Lower the heat, add the ginger and brown sugar. Mix all together.
- Add the noodles and mix gently.
- Taste to see if seasoning is good. If it needs more, add the rest of the seasoning that came with the noodles.
- Serve hot.
Total Time / Yield:
- 15-20 minutes / 1-2 servings
Notes, Tips & Tricks:
- This is a quick and simple recipe. If you wish some more ingredients, add some raw carrots cut into very thin strips, a bit of broccoli, chard into pieces and some shrimps (or chicken cut into strips or cubes, or beef cut into strips or cubes). And if necessary add more salt.
