Meatballs In White Sauce
This recipe can be an alternative option to vary the preparation of ground meat-based meals.
Ingredients for meatballs:
- 600g ground beef
- 1 egg, beaten
- ½ cup chopped bread
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1 cube of meat bouillon
- 4 tablespoons of hot milk
- Oil (vegetable oil or olive oil) or butter for greasing baking sheet
- ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
Ingredients for white sauce:
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 2 cups of boiling milk
- 1 cube of meat bouillon
Directions for meatballs:
- Preheat oven to 350° F (about 180°C).
- Dissolve the cube of meat bouillon with milk. Mix them with ground beef, beaten egg, chopped bread and chopped parsley.
- Make small balls, place them into a greased baking sheet and bake until the meatballs are golden brown (approximately 30 minutes). Turn them over, if necessary.
Directions for white sauce:
- Separately, dissolve the cube of meat bouillon with milk.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter and add the flour.
- Gradually add the mixture of meat bouillon and milk while, at the same time, stirring until smooth.
How to serve:
- Spread the white sauce over meatballs, sprinkle with grated mozzarella cheese and bake until the cheese melts.
