Traditional Milk Pudding

A light and delicious dessert.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of sugar
  • ½ cup hot water
  • 1 can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 eggs

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to medium heat (about 400°F / 200 °C).
  2. Add the sugar in a pan over low heat to melt, without stirring, until you get a golden caramel color.
  3. Add the hot water and stir with a spoon until it boils.
  4. Spread this syrup in a cake pan of about 22 cm in diameter with a hole in the middle. Set aside.
  5. In a blender, mix the remaining ingredients for 3 minutes or until smooth. Pour the mixture into the caramelized cake pan and cover with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake in a bain-marie (the water of bain-marie should already be hot), for 1 hour.
  7. Remove aluminum foil and bake another 30 minutes or until golden.
  8. Remove from oven and let cool.
  9. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
  10. After that time, unmold and serve.

  • About 1 hour and 40 minutes plus 2 hours waiting time / 8-10 servings
